The Artemis story begins with early pioneers of crypto fundamental investing: Vincent Jow and James Ho at Modular Capital, a crypto investment firm.
When we spoke with them as they raised their fund, Vincent and James described the painstaking process of manually grabbing comparable data to understand blockchain activity from 10+ different sites. There weren’t existing tools in the market to get the metrics that matter into dashboards, Excel, or Google Sheet in a no-code way.
We learned that hedge funds were building massive internal systems to track developer activity, chain, application activity but also struggled with understanding the metrics that matter. Newer fund managers and every day investors were also struggling to figure out what metrics matter and get access to tooling to understand blockchains.
For crypto to realize its promise of building an open and internet-native financial system, we realized Artemis needs to exist to build trust and transparency through data standards that investors, builders, governments, business and consumers can use.
